Welcome to

Medical & Humane Services Foundation

The Medical & Humane Services Foundation was established by Dr. Ashraf Meelu in 2001. The basic purpose of the foundation is to provide health services to individuals in his home village in Pakistan.

Pakistan is a developing country with very fractured and costly health services, especially in rural areas like District Sialkot, Pakistan, where Dr. Meelu is from. There were no medical services in his own village or the surrounding area. This critical deficiency is what spurned Dr. Meelu to establish a hospital at his village of Aslam Pur (Khrolian Uchian).

Accomplishments of the Foundation

The Medical and Humane Services Foundation is a beacon of hope for countless individuals in need in Pakistan. Dedicated to improving lives, the foundation has made remarkable strides in providing essential medical care, housing, and financial assistance to impoverished communities. Through its unwavering commitment to humanitarianism, the foundation has transformed lives and uplifted entire communities.

Some of our most proud accomplishments include:

  1. Establishment of medical services with a primary care physician and a staff of over 10 employees including three nurses. Patients are charged only 10-20 rupees (about 25 cents) to see a doctor. All salaries and expenses are paid by Dr. Meelu through the foundation. The hospital has both outpatient and inpatient facilities, an operating theater, x-ray machine, and lab and ultrasound services for pregnant women.
  2. Free medications given to patients in need.
  3. The purchase of land to provide housing to individuals in need
  4. Annual food package and cash, locally called the Ramadan package, at the beginning of the holy month Ramadan.
  5. Establishment of medical camps where specialist doctors come from urban areas, including the USA, to provide free medical services.

Population Served

District Sialkot is a highly populous area. There are 10 villages in the three mile radius with a population ranging from 3,000 to 4,000 in each village. Patients even come from a distance of 10 to 15 miles away to access the foundation’s services.

Your support can be the lifeline for countless individuals. Help us build a future where quality healthcare is accessible to all. Donate generously today and be part of a movement that is transforming lives.
